Studio Policies

Everything you need to know for a safe, organized, and successful season at NGDC & Tumbling.

Our Commitment

At NGDC & Tumbling, our policies are designed to create a safe, organized, and positive environment where every dancer can thrive. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a welcoming atmosphere for all students and families throughout the season.

Enrollment & Class Placement

Class Enrollment
A minimum of five students is required for a class to remain on our schedule. If enrollment falls below this number, students may be transferred to another class that best matches their age and skill level.

Class Placement
Students are placed according to skill level, technical ability, maturity, and instructor recommendation rather than age alone. Instructors may recommend class changes throughout the season to ensure every dancer continues to learn and grow.

Attendance & Classroom Expectations

Attendance
Regular attendance is essential for student growth and progress. Please keep absences to a minimum. If your child is ill or has a contagious illness, we ask that they remain home until they are well.

Leaving Class Early
If your child needs to leave class early, please notify the instructor before class begins.

Electronic Devices
Cell phones, smart watches, and other electronic devices are not permitted during class unless approved by the instructor for a class-related activity or emergency.

Food in Class
Candy, gum, and other snacks are not permitted inside the classrooms.

Dress Code

Dance Attire

Dance attire is encouraged for all dance and tumbling classes. Wearing proper dance attire allows instructors to evaluate technique, body alignment, and movement while maintaining a polished classroom environment.

Ballet Students

Ballet students should wear:

  • A leotard (any color)

  • Ballet tights

  • Ballet shoes

Hair

Hair should be neatly secured away from the face for all classes.

Studio & Lobby Policies

Student Supervision

Our staff is not responsible for children who are left unattended in the lobby. Please drop off and pick up students promptly. Children under the age of 5, or those who are unable to follow studio expectations independently, must be accompanied by a parent or guardian while in the lobby.

Lobby Viewing

To help minimize lobby traffic and reduce distractions during class, we encourage a drop-off and pick-up method whenever possible.

Our younger dance classroom features a viewing window for parents. The blinds will remain closed during class to provide the best learning environment. Parents are invited to watch the last 10 minutes of class each week to see what their dancer has been learning.

Lobby Seating

Please do not move chairs within the lobby. Chairs are arranged to help keep walkways open and maintain a safe, organized space for all families.

Personal Belongings

Students are encouraged to use our Dancer Room to change before or after class and store dance bags, shoes, water bottles, and other personal items. NGDC & Tumbling is not responsible for lost, stolen, or unattended belongings.

Food & Drinks

Only water is permitted inside classrooms and must be in a sealed sports bottle or bottle with a lid. No food or other beverages are allowed in class.

Parents and students are asked to clean up any trash in the lobby to help keep our studio clean and welcoming.

Siblings

For the safety of all families, siblings must remain with a parent or guardian at all times while in the lobby. Please help keep hallways and walkways clear.

Classroom Etiquette

To avoid disrupting instruction, please do not open classroom doors, knock on windows, or interrupt classes. If you need immediate assistance, our front desk staff will be happy to help.

Tuition & Refund Policy

Tuition

Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and is paid through automatic payments using your Parent Portal.

Late Payments

Payments received after the 1st will incur a $30 late fee. Returned payments will be assessed a $25 insufficient funds fee. Accounts that remain unpaid for 30 days may result in the student being removed from classes.

Refund Policy

Registration fees, tuition, recital fees, costume fees, camps, intensives, ticket purchases, and all other studio fees are non-refundable.

Weather Closures

Studio closures due to inclement weather are not refundable. Students are welcome to attend a non-recital class as a make-up class when available.

Withdrawal

Parents must complete a Drop Form at least 30 days before their child's final class. Tuition will continue to be billed until a Drop Form has been received and processed.

Medical Leave

Students who experience an extended medical injury may request a tuition hold with a physician's note. A doctor's release will also be required before returning to class.

Communication & Questions

Communication

We value open communication with our families. If you have questions about your child's progress, class placement, or the studio, please contact us or leave a message with the front desk.

Instructor Availability

Our instructors are focused on teaching before, during, and between classes and may not be available for conversations during class changes. We appreciate your understanding as they prepare for their next classes.

Questions or Concerns

If an issue arises, please let us know as soon as possible. We are committed to working together with our families to resolve concerns promptly and ensure every student has a positive experience at NGDC & Tumbling.

Photography & Video Recording

Photography & Video Recording

Parents are welcome to take photos before or after class; however, photography and video recording are not permitted during class unless authorized by NGDC & Tumbling.

This policy helps minimize distractions and allows our instructors and students to remain focused throughout class.

Social Media

NGDC & Tumbling may occasionally photograph or record classes, performances, competitions, camps, and studio events for promotional purposes, including our website and social media platforms. If you prefer that your child not appear in studio photos or videos, please notify the front desk in writing.
